This module provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the legal frameworks that underpin modern business practice. It explores the principles of company law, employment law, and the law of obligations, with a special emphasis on corporate governance, directors’ duties, and the protection of shareholder and employee rights.
Students will develop the ability to:
-Analyse the legal aspects of corporate management and decision-making;
-Evaluate statutory and case law in areas such as shareholder remedies, contracts of employment, and unlawful dismissal;
-Classify and connect different areas of business law, including company law, employment law, and ethics in legal practice;
-Apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios through case studies, problem-based learning, and interactive class discussions.
By the end of the module, students will not only understand the black-letter law but will also critically reflect on ethical, professional, and social responsibilities within corporate and business contexts. The course is designed to equip students with the legal literacy and analytical skills needed to navigate an increasingly complex business environment.
This module introduces students to the fundamentals of building a new startup. This is done with a practical analytical framework (Lean Launchpad), and a semester-long applied project (launch a new business).

The Business Research Methods course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the research process in the business environment. This course equips students with the tools and techniques necessary to conduct systematic research, analyze data, and present findings that support decision-making in business contexts.

Key topics covered include research design, both qualitative and quantitative research methods, data collection techniques (such as surveys, interviews, and focus groups), and the application of statistical analysis tools. Students will also explore ethical issues in research, the importance of critical thinking, and how to develop research proposals and reports.

By the end of the course, students will have a solid foundation in conducting business research, understanding data-driven insights, and making informed decisions based on empirical evidence. This course is ideal for students pursuing careers in management, marketing, finance, and any field that requires the application of research to improve business practices.
